BUSINESS LAW

Business Law focuses on the role of the law on all aspects of business ownership and management. The purpose of this course is for students to build sound legal and commercial awareness by observing the development and application of legal principles in a business activity. Business Law deals more with commercial rather than inter-personal affairs. Lecturers with deep knowledge and experience in the corporate space will teach you a range of topics that serve as a foundation for dealing with legal matters in business. The course explores all the legal aspects required for running of business organisations including laws of copyright, contractual law, tort, employment law and workplace safety regulations, financial law, taxation and Intellectual Property Law. It also explores the impact of laws and regulations and judicial decisions on society as a whole. It includes principles of law as they relate to business policies, ethics, and corporate social responsibilities. You will learn how to lawyers construct legal documents, learn the pros and cons of different kinds of business structures and be able to identify sources of law and the fiduciary duties the law requires corporate professionals to follow. A business with an experienced business lawyer or an owner with the knowledge of business law is more likely to be successful that one without. In this course we shall look at all areas of law involved in starting and running a business in compliance with the state (in this case TRNC) legal business standards.
